The Bachelor study course International Forest Ecosystem Management trains students to become  experts who are able to understand the forests of our world as ecosystems and to conserve and manage them in the principles of a sustainable forestry (ecosystem approach). The graduating students will be taught how to implement international agreements and conventions for the protection and sustainable use of natural resources of our world through means of their acquired knowledge, their management skills and international experience.

Urban Forestry in China

Foto 2 _ MdB Wellmann mit Vize-Bürgermeister_klein Professor Peter Spathelf and Professor Michael Mussong discussed together with the Member of the Bundestag Mr. Karl-Georg Wellmann in Beijing and Chongqing about future projects within the range of the "Urban Forestry" and sustainable forest management. During the stay in China from 02/23/2009 to 02/28/2009 they visited the Chinese Academy of Forestry, the vice mayor of the city Chongqing, the forest department as well as the Southwest University Chongqing. Chongqing is the most important center in southwest China and lies in the middle range of the Yangtze river. The extended city range has 31 millions inhabitants.
