Support for agri-environmental analysis at the European Environment Agency
The University of Applied Sciences Eberswalde (Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Piorr and Dipl. Ing. Ulrike Eppler) as lead organisation, with Solagro (France), Ecologic (Germany), CEET (Estonia) and Nordregio (Sweden) as partners, has been award a service contract from the European Environment agency (EEA) to support the agri-environmental analysis at the EEA.
The activities include:
Support the updating and extension to EU-25 of agri-environment indicators with particular emphasis on gross nutrient balance (N + P), policy response information as well as water and biodiversity related indicators
Support in identifying and compiling data on farm management practices
Input to debate on bio-energy production on farmland
Data input and analysis regarding environmentally compatible bioenergy/biofuel production on farmland
Reaching the 2010 biodiversity target/support Natura 2000 implementation
Climate change and water use (adaptation)
Rural policies and the environment
Compilation and analysis of socio-economic data, including the implementation of the EU common agriculture policy and structural funds
Organisation of expert meetings and conferences
Support implementation of the water framework directive (WFD)
