Currently Dr. Addo Koranteng is a guest at the Faculty of Forest and Environment. He is the Head of the Center for Research Development & Technology Incubation (CRDTI) and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Research Innovation and Development (IRID) at the Kumasi Technical University in Ghana. He is also the Institutional Coordinator for the Erasmus Mobility Plus at the Kumasi Technical University.

Dr. Koranteng is a very proud alumnus of the study  programme Forest Information Technology (FIT) here at HNEE and considers Eberswalde his second home. He graduated with top honors and was adjudged as the best International Student by the DAAD in 2007 for his master thesis titled "Land Use and Land Cover Change in the Kumasi Metropolis and its Environs Based on the Analysis of Landsat Images". Since the completion of his master studies Dr. Koranteng stayed in touch his his alma mater and has been giving periodic lectures at HNEE anytime he came to Germany.

Currently Dr. Korantend is collaborating with the Dean of the Faculty of Forest and Environment (Prof. Dr. Tobias Cremer). Together they have secured the Erasmus Mobility grant support for students and staff exchanges between the HNEE and KsTU for 2020 – 2023.

Dr. Koranteng researches and teaches forestry, remote sensing and GIS applications in forestry and the environment. He is currently lecturing in some IFEM courses and working with individual students on their projects and thesis. Within the framework of the DAAD ''Guest Lectureship and the stays for university teachers and scientists, 2020" Dr. Koranteng is very grateful for the DAAD's continued support.​​​​​​

Zur Zeit ist Dr. Addo Koranteng im Rahmen seines 2. Lehr- und Forschungsaufenthaltes am Fachbereich für Wald und Umwelt zu Gast. Dr. Koranteng ist unter anderem Leiter des Center for Research Development & Technology Incubation (CRDTI) und Senior Research Fellow am Institute of Research Innovation and Development (IRID) an der Technischen Universität Kumasi (KsTU) in Ghana. 

Dr. Koranteng ist froh darüber, nach seinem Abschluss im Studiengang Forest Information Technology (2007) an den Fachbereich zurückzukehren. Für seine Abschlussarbeit mit dem Titel "Land Use and Land Cover Change in the Kumasi Metropolis and its Environments Based on the Analysis of Landsat Images" wurde er 2007 vom DAAD ausgezeichnet. Seit dem Abschluss seines Masterstudiums hält er regelmäßig Vorträge an der HNEE, wann immer sich die Möglichkeit dazu bietet.

Gegenwärtig arbeitet Dr. Koranteng eng mit Dekan Tobias Cremer zusammen. Gemeinsam haben sie sich Unterstützung des Erasmus-Mobilitätsstipendiums für den Austausch von Studierenden und Mitarbeitern*innen zwischen der HNEE und der KsTU (2020 - 2023) gesichert.

Dr. Koranteng forscht und lehrt in den Fachgebieten Forstwirtschaft, Fernerkundung und GIS-Anwendungen in der Forstwirtschaft/Umwelt. Derzeit hält er Vorlesungen in einigen IFEM-Kursen und arbeitet mit einzelnen Studierenden an ihren Projekten und Abschlussarbeiten. Dr. Kornateng ist sehr dankbar für die Unterstützung durch den DAAD und die Ermöglichung seiner DAAD-Gastdozentur und seines Aufenthaltes an der HNEE.
