Sustainable Tourism Management (MA)

The Master's programme Sustainable Tourism Management provides solid tourism industry knowledge. It also teaches skills to integrate the principles of sustainability in daily work. Our graduates work as tourism managers in destination organizations, in planning authorities or travel companies, as tourism consultants or as lecturers and trainers.


Course Curriculum 

The Master's course has a duration of four semesters and is a full-time programme. The first two semesters are taught on-campus in Eberswalde. The programme starts every year in September (winter semester).


Programme Structure - Course Content

The programme involves a range of taught  modules (first two semesters) plus an Internship (third semester) and a Master's Thesis in the area of Sustainable Tourism Management (fourth semester).

Entry requirements

Prerequisite is a Bachelor's degree in tourism (180 ECTS points). Students holding a BA or BSc in geography, econmics, regional or landscape planning, cultural studies or equivalent, may also be taken into consideration if they have at least 30 ECTS in tourism related courses.


About 70% of the course programme is taught in German and about 30% is taught in English. Therefore, all international candidates have to document excellent German language skills (CEFR: C1, TestDaF min. average level 4) and advanced English language skills (CEFR: B2).The master thesis as well as the practical project report (3rd semester) may be written and presented in English.


Enrolement

Admission to the programme is restricted to 40 students each year. The application deadline for enrolment is 15th July. Please apply as early as possible. For more information on enrolement please contact our International Office.
