The Language Centre supports the University’s international students and refugees preparing to enter university with a range of German language courses at different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

This intensive German language course is provided for refugees who intend to study at a German university.
The course is specially designed for people who have proven German language skills at B1 level to take them up to the B2 and subsequently C1 level, which is required for most study programmes in German language.
After having successfully passed the level C1, students are prepared for the examination telc C1 Hochschule.
In addition to the course, participants can also take advantage of the following:
· guest/audit attendance at HNEE lectures
· free use of library (books, journals, internet, ChromeBooks)
· guidance for university entry
Course dates: 09.10.2017 - 27.07.2018
Classes: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
While there are no course fees, participants are expected to cover the cost of study materials.
25 students max.
- ID with statement of asylum status (e.g. BüMA)
- Proof of qualification for entry to higher education (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung — “HZB“) or equivalent in either German or English
- Proof of B1-level German language skills.
