Uckermark off-site Campus

The Uckermark off-site Campus of HNE Eberswalde was opened in Schwedt/Oder at the end of 2007. Its objective is to offer educational and professional prospects to potential students in North Eastern Brandenburg, to counteract the trend of emigration and an ageing population in rural regions. Measures focus on increasing the willingness of schoolchildren and professionals to attend university by raising awareness and preparing them specifically for university. Active integration of companies, which guarantees access to the regional labour market, is equally important.

The Uckermark off-site Campus makes university education more flexible and accessible both geographically and in terms of time. For example, advanced training modules in communication, controlling, personnel, financing and accounting are offered in the Uckermark based on the blended learning concept, enabling professionals to participate in advanced business training at an academic level while they work. That gives a far larger target group access to academic education and is a response to calls for life-long learning. Accordingly, the Uckermark off-site Campus makes an active contribution to regional specialist management.

Germany/Poland Innovation Transfer project

As part of the overall Schwedt/Oder Regional Budget project, which plans measures to increase innovation in the area by boosting knowledge and technology transfers and initiating regional growth processes, the Uckermark off-site Campus of the University of Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (FH) is analysing academic education opportunities in the neighbouring region in Poland, in particular in Szczecin and the surrounding area. On this basis, there are plans to develop services for Schwedt/Oder and the Uckermark region to supplement the existing qualification opportunities and utilise the qualification potential of the nearest university in Szczecin. That will require a potential study and the development of customised structures for the expansion of cross-border academic, part-time education, and preparing and initial supervision of an off-site campus for Polish education services from the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.

„Innowacyjny transfer Niemcy / Polska“
