Production of high-quality wood products from native woods for use in new target countries outside the EU
Subproject: Development and implementation of tests of wood products to determine the material properties under the influence of alternating climates
If native hardwoods are to be used in non-European regions, there is a lack of reliable characteristic values for the service properties of these woods depending on the local conditions of use. First of all, the new requirement profiles in the target countries outside the EU have to be analyzed, new test methods have to be developed, material properties have to be determined, documented and prepared according to these specifications, and the process control has to be developed on the basis of these characteristic values. The objectives of this project are the development of new products tailored to the requirements of the new target countries outside the EU and the development of a modular catalog of criteria and requirements. This includes the development of novel test methods to determine specific properties resulting from the application profiles.
