Application deadlines

If you wish to apply for a place at HNE Eberswalde, please note that there are open admission programmes (without numerus clausus) and restricted admission programmes (with numerus clausus). Therefore the application procedures and regulations may differ depending on your individual course of study.

Study programmes starting in summer semester

Applications for the summer semester are only possible for the non-admission-restricted master programmes “Management in Organic Agriculture” and “Wood Science and Technology”. Application deadline is February 28.

Study programmes starting in winter semester

Application deadline for admission-restricted study programmes is July 15. Please apply as early as possible to make sure that uni-assist forwards the results of their pre-check until the 15 of July. The application process at uni-assist starts in May at the latest.
Application deadline for international applicants for the master programme "Global Change management" is May 1. The application process for this study programme at uni-assist starts in April at the latest.
Applicants for non-admission-restricted study programmes are strongly advised to apply as early as possible, until September 5.

Admission requirements

Requirements for a study programme at our university are:

  • general qualification for university entrance or equivalent degree at a school abroad,
  • for master programmes: university degree (Diploma, Bachelor, Magister and other university or university of applied sciences degrees) in the relevant field of study,
  • depending on the programme: very good knowledge of English language (applicants from countries where English is the official language or mother tongue, don´t have to provide their English language skills),
  • depending on the programme: very good knowledge of German language

Please note that the requested language proficiency level of English and German vary at each study programme. For more information please visit the website of your selected field of study.


As some international degree programmes (IFEM, FIT, GCM and Sustainable Tourism Management) hold lectures and seminars in English, these courses require English language skills at CEFR level B2. Our university recognises various international certificates such as TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge English. If you are not sure whether your certificate is recognised, contact our Language Center.


For most German-language courses at the HNE Eberswalde German skills at level C1 are required. All certificates should comply with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). If you are not sure whether your language skills are recognised, please contact our Language Center .
