Landscape Management and Nature Conservation (BSc)

  • duration: 3 years (6 Semester)
  • level: undergraduate
  • degree: Bachelor of Science
  • tuition language: German

Besides the conservation of natural areas, the sustainable use of land for agriculture, forestry, tourism etc. will gain an increasing importance in the years to come. Experts are necessary with knowledge of biology, landscape ecology and landscape planning as well as knowledge of environmentally compatible land use in order to cope with the new challenges of nature and environmental protection. Furthermore they need a solid education in economics, environment policy and pedagogy. These experts must be able to understand landscape as a whole, to evaluate it and to secure its functioning and sustainable use by being active in different administrations, institutions and enterprises. It is more than ever urgent to save the cultural landscapes as a network of stable habitats with their social, historical and natural functions.

The programme includes 6 semesters of study after which the students get the degree Bachelor of Science for Landscape Management and Nature Conservation. A practical semester is integrated.

The programme focuses on: planning and management, soil protection, environmental education, tourism, agriculture and forestry.
