Entry Requirements

The entitlement to study at our university is proven by the following:

Bachelor's programme 

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or subject-related higher education entrance qualification or Fachhochschulreife or equivalent qualification of a foreign school or
  • a vocational qualification in accordance with §9 of the Law for the New Regulation of Higher Education Law of the State of Brandenburg of 28 April 2014 
  • the language skills required for the study programme


Master's programme

  • by completing a relevant study pogramme. Please inform yourself in advance on the websites of the study programmes or with the respective academic advisors about the professional requirements you should fulfill for the desired Master's programme.
  • the language skills required for the study programme


Postgraduate Master's Programme

  • by a first university degree. Please inform yourself in advance on the web pages of the study programmes or at the course guidance service which subject requirements you additionally have to fulfil for the desired Master's programme.
  • one-year professional occupation
  • the language skills required for the study programme


    Consideration of relevant practical experience in the university selection process:

    Applicants for degree programmes with restricted admissions can increase their chances of being admitted with proven relevant practical experience. For this purpose, please upload a proof of at least 6 months of relevant practical experience already completed at the time of application or proof of a relevant completed vocational training in your online application form.


    Further Requirements

    German

    Applicants with foreign access qualifications must prove that they have German language skills at level C1 for the German-language courses at HNE Eberswalde. All certificates must comply with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). 

    For the bilingual study programmes "International Forest Ecosystem Management", "Sustainable Tourism Management" and "Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation" German language skills on level B2 are required. For the English-language study programmes "Biosphere Reserves Management", "Global Change Management", "Forestry System Transformation" and "Forest Information Technology" no German language skills are required.

    English

    Since lectures and seminars in English are held in the international study programmes "International Forest Ecosystem Management", "Global Change Management", "Forestry System Transformation", "Forest Information Technology", "Sustainable Tourism Management" and "Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation" English language proficiency at CEFR B2 level must be proven for these study programmes and CEFR C1 must be proven for "Biosphere Reserves Management". All certificates must comply with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Applicants* with foreign TOEFL certificates should quote the code 2727 so that the certificate can be forwarded directly to uni-assist.

    In the language and subject course programme ESiSt - Successful Entry into Studies for International Students in the Federal State of Brandenburg, you can acquire a subject-related university entrance qualification for a Bachelor's degree programme at our university and/or the required German language skills.
