SUMMARY:Doctoral and research colloquium
DESCRIPTION:The joint doctoral and research colloquium of the four Univers
ities of Applied Sciences in Brandenburg invites participants to engage in
academic exchange on ongoing research and doctoral projects at the univer
sities. In addition\, challenges\, tips\, and practical advice related to
the doctoral journey will be shared and discussed with the participants. T
he colloquium is open to all interested researchers. It was launched in th
e summer semester of 2025 and will now continue as a regular event. The se
ssions take place online approximately every four weeks during the lecture
period.\nOn May 28\, Nursultan Daupayev\, doctoral researcher at the Tech
nischen Hochschule Brandenburg\, will present his doctoral project. \nTit
le: Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks for Structural Health Monit
oring\nBuildings are exposed to environmental influences\, which reduce th
eir lifespan and can lead to structural degradation. This research focuses
on the development of wireless sensor networks that enable continuous mon
itoring of building conditions\, addressing energy limitation issues throu
gh energy harvesting and efficient data collection. The goal is to develop
self-sustaining sensor network systems that assess and predict the degree
of material degradation and reduce maintenance costs.
