DESCRIPTION:Equal parenting is often considered a matter of course in acad
 emia and among researchers. However\, the data tell a different story. Bal
 ancing care work\, paid employment\, and the mental load associated with b
 oth family life and professional responsibilities can push parents to thei
 r limits. There is a lack of established role models and still relatively 
 few concrete recommendations for action. This workshop is aimed at parents
  working in academia\, particularly PhD candidates\, postdocs\, and profes
 sors.\nThe aim of the workshop is to raise awareness and thereby create a 
 foundation for more equal parenting. To this end\, we will introduce conce
 pts of equal parenting\, make the distribution of care work within couples
  visible\, and then explore practical tools for negotiating and sharing re
