DESCRIPTION:The joint doctoral and research colloquium of the four Univers
 ities of Applied Sciences in Brandenburg invites participants to engage in
  academic exchange on ongoing research and doctoral projects at the univer
 sities. In addition\, challenges\, tips\, and practical advice related to 
 the doctoral journey will be shared and discussed with the participants. T
 he colloquium is open to all interested researchers. It was launched in th
 e summer semester of 2025 and will now continue as a regular event. The se
 ssions take place online approximately every four weeks during the lecture
  period.\nOn May 28\, Nursultan Daupayev\, doctoral researcher at the Tech
 nischen Hochschule Brandenburg\, will present his doctoral project. \nTit
 le: Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks for Structural Health Monit
 oring\nBuildings are exposed to environmental influences\, which reduce th
 eir lifespan and can lead to structural degradation. This research focuses
  on the development of wireless sensor networks that enable continuous mon
 itoring of building conditions\, addressing energy limitation issues throu
 gh energy harvesting and efficient data collection. The goal is to develop
  self-sustaining sensor network systems that assess and predict the degree
  of material degradation and reduce maintenance costs.
