SUMMARY:Using AI in Your Doctoral Research - Fundamentals and Frameworks (
 Kick off)
DESCRIPTION:How can AI be used effectively in doctoral research and everyd
ay academic work – and where are the limits and grey areas? In this work
shop series participants will have the opportunity to explore different AI
applications hands-on and apply them to concrete tasks from their own res
earch and academic work – from structuring and analysing data to working
with texts and organising their work.\nThe in-depth modules in November a
nd December can be booked individually\; however\, participation in the Ki
ck-off Workshop on 16 October is a prerequisite for attending the Deep Div
es.\nTo kick off the workshop series\, participants will explore the basic
principles of how generative AI works\, its typical potentials and limita
tions\, as well as key questions around data protection and the legal and
institutional frameworks governing its use in academic work. Using case st
udies and participants’ own experiences\, the workshop will also address
  grey areas\, transparency\, documentation\, and academic responsibility w
hen using AI. Participants will then be introduced to basic prompting tech
niques and have the opportunity to put them into practice using their own
examples and the AI tools available to them.\nRegister now!
