Science meets business: dialogue on new working models at HNEE
On Thursday, 26 June 2025, the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) invites you to the "University meets Business" event at the Waldcampus. From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the focus will be on the exchange between science, business and the next generation of skilled workers as well as practical solutions for a sustainable working world.

This year's programme focuses on the topic of "New Work " - in particular new working time models and their importance for a healthy, motivating and productive working environment. How can the expectations of young employees be reconciled with corporate realities? The event will address this question with a broad spectrum of impulses from research and practice. The event will kick off with a keynote speech by Dr Elisa Lopper (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Occupational Health Psychology Department) on the topic: "New Work - Rethinking Work(ing) Time?" Afterwards, regional companies - including ENERTRAG, P&R Gerätetechnik, Sparkasse Barnim and GJP Steuerberatung - will report on their business practices. Topics include technical innovations, employer attractiveness and flexible working time models.
The programme will be complemented by a guided tour of the HNEE Technical Centre, where participants will gain an insight into the Wood Science and Technology machinery. Another highlight is the presentation of the Founder Award 2025 by the Barnim-Uckermark Business Start-up Network.
Kerstin Lehmann, Head of Research, Start-ups and Transfer at HNEE, emphasises the added value of the event: "This format brings together stakeholders from the region and shows how theory and practice can be successfully combined. Companies benefit from the innovative spirit of the university, students gain insights into professional contexts and make initial contacts."
The concluding networking event from 6.30 pm offers the opportunity to deepen the exchange and initiate new collaborations.
The event is being organised in cooperation with numerous regional partners, including the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft e.V., the IHK Ostbrandenburg, the WFBB Regionalcenter NordostBrandenburg, the city of Eberswalde, the Unternehmerverband Barnim e.V., the Unternehmervereinigung Uckermark e.V. and the Schwedt | Uckermark branch of Brandenburg's universities.
