ERDF-Project for procurement of a "Scanning electron microscope laboratory to analyse the interfacial behavior and adhesion of different material combinations in novel lightweight material combinations“
Scanning electron microscope (SEM)
"Scanning electron microscope laboratory to analyse the interfacial behavior and adhesion of different material combinations in novel lightweight material combinations“ is an ERDF-funded project of the Brandenburg Ministry of Science and Culture.
Short description
To adequately represent the expansion of research approaches in lightweight construction, the European Regional Development Fund funded a structure image process technology.
It is now possible to investigate the material behaviour of lightweight structures such as wood. The modifications processes and material combinations in our research can be analysed and optimize. By using a scanning electron microscope, the various interacting material structures in material combinations with wood can be investigated and verified.
The purchased SEM is a Coxem EM 30+ with a Wolfram filament and a variable current of 1-30 kV. The resolution of 5 nm can be fixed with 5120x3840 px pictures. The two detectors (SE and BSE) can be combined to get more information within one picture.
This measuring system expands our existing competencies in optical microscopic and mechanical-physical analysis of wood.
