The BRI organised the workshop "Potential of citizen science in European UNESCO Biosphere Reserves". A total of 41 people, from 17 countries, different BRs, related organisations, and research institutions participated. Though underexplored, citizen science can aid, e.g., knowledge co-creation, community/youth empowerment and education in BRs. Challenges and future directions were also discussed. The workshop took place in the Isle of Vilm (Southeast Rügen BR) with the support of BfN.
