The exhibition will open with welcoming remarks and speeches by Opferperspektive e.V., the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, the Light Me Amadeu campaign and the HNEE. In addition, there will be information stands run by Studis gegen Rechts (Students Against the Right) and the teaching research project ‘Border Violence and the Viadrina in the 1990s’ from the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). All university members are cordially invited to attend.
The exhibition ‘Kein Schöner Land – Todesopfer rechter Gewalt in Brandenburg’ (No Beautiful Land – Fatalities of Right-wing Violence in Brandenburg) by the association Opferperspektive e.V. commemorates the fate of people who have lost their lives in Brandenburg as a result of right-wing violence since 1990. The exhibition not only focuses on the personal stories of the individuals themselves, but also offers insight into the often incomplete investigation of the crimes and the social struggle for recognition of the victims. The exhibition also includes Amadeu Antonio, who died on 6 December 1990 as a result of an attack by right-wing extremist skinheads in Eberswalde.
The exhibition will be on display from 5 December 2025 to 30 January 2026 in the foyer of House 1 on the HNEE city campus.
Together with the following partners, the HNEE in Eberswalde is taking a stand against right-wing violence:
- Opferperspektive e.V.
- Amadeu Antonio Foundation
- Light Me Amadeu campaign
- Angermünde Mobile Advisory Team
- Students Against the Right
- European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder)
The opening will be accompanied by music from cellist Tobias Hoffmann. Refreshments will be provided by Bäckerei Wiese.
Accompanying the exhibition, workshops will be offered in December 2025 and January 2026 by speakers from Opferperspektive and the Mobile Advisory Team Angermünde:
Workshop ‘Right-wing extremist violence in Brandenburg – the common thread’ by the Mobile Advisory Team Angermünde
Wednesday, 10 December 2025, 1:00-5:00 p.m., Waldcampus, room to be announced after registration.
In addition to the street violence that became apparent in Brandenburg in the 1990s, the areas of activity in 2026 have become more diverse and interconnected. Particular attention should therefore be paid to the experiences of right-wing extremist individuals and groups and how a wide variety of factors promote or accelerate radicalisation. The responses and options for action available to democratic civil society can be as diverse as the hostility and perceived threats themselves.
The workshop provides insights into current examples of right-wing populist and right-wing extremist thinking as well as into areas for action. There will be space to exchange experiences and knowledge from private and professional everyday life, to examine them and to sharpen them.

Workshop ‘Right-wing violence in Brandenburg yesterday and today’ by Opferperspektive e.V.
Wednesday, 14 January 2026, 1:00-4:00 p.m., City Campus, room to be announced after registration.
In the so-called ‘baseball bat years’ of the post-reunification period, right-wing violence escalated – not only, but especially in eastern Germany. Today, right-wing extremist attacks are once again reaching record numbers, and young neo-Nazis are once again shaping the cityscape in some places. Accompanying the exhibition " [Kein Schöner Land] – Todesopfer rechter Gewalt in Brandenburg" (No Beautiful Land – Fatalities of Right-wing Violence in Brandenburg), speakers from the Opferperspektive association will provide insights into the extent and effects of right-wing violence since the 1990s. At the same time, the workshop will focus on possible courses of action for (potentially) affected individuals and supporters.
