Along with 200 Youth Representatives from Biosphere Reserves in 142 countries, BRI PhD student Charlotte Griestop, representing the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, particpated in the 3rd Global MAB Youth Forum, which took place from 13-22 May in the Po Delta Biosphere Reserve and the Colli Euganei Biosphere Reserve in Italy.
Over the five days of group work, capacity building and field visits, participants exchanged experiences and perspectives on ecosystem conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and traditional knowledge and languages.
Building on the Hangzhou Action Plan, as well as from the diverse experiences and perspectives that the participants brought with them from their local biosphere reserves, the group jointly developed a shared declaration and a global roadmap for the period 2026–2035.
