WALK WITH PRIDE - Exhibition opens
The Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), in cooperation with the Queer Brandenburg State Coordination Centre, is presenting the exhibition WALK WITH PRIDE in the foyer of Building 1 on the city campus in Eberswalde. The exhibition features photographs by internationally renowned photographer Charles Meacham, who has documented Christopher Street Day (CSD) parades across Eastern Europe and Asia, capturing the courage of individuals standing up for their rights. The exhibition is open to the public Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., until 9 September 2025.

The exhibition has been made possible by the State Coordination Centre Queer Brandenburg. It was officially opened on 17 June by Jirka Witschak (State Coordination Office), together with Maria Seidel, Coordinator for Anti-Racism Work at HNEE.
The annual Christopher Street Day (CSD) parades commemorate the 1969 uprisings by members of the LGBTQ+ community against police brutality and continue to call for acceptance and legal equality—rights still denied in many countries. In the face of a global rise in right-wing extremism, participants continue to stand up for a self-determined life, often at great personal risk. Charles Meacham’s photographs capture CSD parades and counter-events from 2010 in countries including Poland, Romania, Belarus, Lithuania, Croatia, Turkey, Russia, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Hungary.
