PLURIVERSUM: Discourses for a Just Future

The HNEE’s Social-Ecological Forest Management programme invites you to a political and cultural multimedia evening on the Forest Campus on Monday 29 June 2026. Featuring Alberto Acosta (Buen Vivir), journalist Sandra Weiss, GRUPO SAL, indigenous activist Patricia Gualinga and multimedia projections by Johannes Keitel, the event will explore climate justice, the rights of nature, indigenous perspectives and new responses to the crises of our time.

On Monday, 29 June 2026, the Wilhelm Pfeil Auditorium on the Waldcampus of the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) will become a venue for music, screenings, political discussions and global perspectives. PLURIVERSUM – Discourses for a Just Future begins there at 8 pm. Admission is free.

The event is hosted by the HNEE’s Social-Ecological Forest Management programme in cooperation with the ECONICS INSTITUTE e.V. and with the support of CHORONA Immobilien GmbH. The evening combines development policy insights with music by GRUPO SAL, contributions from the Ecuadorian economist and politician Alberto Acosta, the journalist Sandra Weiss, and projections by Johannes Keitel.

The focus is on climate justice, human rights, the rights of nature, indigenous self-determination, new social movements and the relationship between the Global South and the Global North. The event explores perspectives on development, prosperity, coexistence and the management of natural resources.

A special guest is Patricia Gualinga from the Pueblo Kichwa de Sarayaku, who will be joining us via video link. The internationally renowned indigenous activist is a member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII). Alberto Acosta, one of the leading voices in the international debate on Buen Vivir, will also be coming to Eberswalde. The concept of the ‘good life’ represents a different vision of development: a life of dignity, social justice and respect for nature.

For the HNEE and the Social-Ecological Forest Management degree programme, the evening will address key themes: social responsibility, international perspectives and the search for forms of economic activity and coexistence that combine ecological and social justice.
