The ENRI project is conducting interdisciplinary research into decision-making processes within companies concerning the further use of financial gains from energy efficiency savings. The aim is to gain insights into the factors influencing sustainable reinvestment decisions, as well as indications of how rebound effects on the production side can be avoided.
As part of the HNEE sub-project “Climate Champions and the Influence of Sustainable Corporate Management on Sustainable Reinvestments”, case studies of eight climate pioneer companies are being used to investigate whether, and if so, according to what patterns, these companies make reinvestments in support of the energy transition, and what role the integration of sustainability plays in these business decisions.
Business leaders who are champions of climate action and stand out for their particularly ambitious climate protection efforts can provide important insights into avoiding rebound effects and thus contribute to the energy transition.
