Experience science - children's university at the HNEE
Anyone wondering what actually goes on behind the doors of our university and what our professors do will find the right answers at our children's university.
We want to get children of primary school age interested in science. That's why we organise the Children's University once a year together with the Barnim-Uckermark Community Foundation. School classes in years 5 and 6 are cordially invited to get to know the university and experience science at first hand.

Lecture for the Next Generation: What Does the Inside of a Tree Look Like? Wood and its Characteristics with Dr Nadine Herold, HNEE staff member, Faculty of Wood Engineering, HNE Eberswalde, Wood Chemistry and Physics Group.

Programme and registration
You can now register for the Children's University from 10 to 14 March 2025 up to and including 1 February 2025 by sending an email to offen[at]hnee.de with the subject "Children's University".
We ask for complete information with the registration:
- Name and location of the school
- Name of the registered class(es) or group with number and grade level of the pupils
- Contact person for queries (e-mail and/or telephone)
- Specification of the desired day (with the two 2 lectures according to the programme) for which registration is to take place
- If applicable, indicate possible alternative dates for other children's university days in order to be able to offer alternatives in case of overbooking
If the desired programme is overbooked but there are still places available on other days, you will receive an alternative offer by e-mail if requested with your registration. Confirmation of successful registrations, including a request for the desired canteen meals, will be sent exclusively by e-mail from offen[at]hnee.de by 12 February 2025 at the latest with all important details. Possible cancellations will also be sent by e-mail by 19 February 2025 at the latest.
