This is us
The Welcome Team is a group of established HNEE students, who support (degree-seeking and exchange) international students joining our university. Our main focus is to help you navigate through your first semester with administrative tasks such as:
- Registering at the city hall
- Register with an health Insurance
- Moving into your residence / signing the tenancy agreement
- Registration with the immigration office
- Activation of the blocked account/opening an account at a bank
- Help you navigating through Eberswalde (Bus system, show important places)
If you need further help with translations during visits to the immigration office in later terms for example, the team will also be there to help.
Newly arriving international students receive a welcome E-mail from the Welcome Team a couple of weeks after their admission. In this E-mail, the procedure for enrolment to the Welcome Programme is explained. If you register, you’ll be paired with a Welcome Teamer and will become your first point of contact for assistance.
The Welcome Team also organizes events such as Introduction events, Welcome events, Intercultural dinners and so on. Giving you the chance to meet and connect with other (international) students at HNEE.
