Exhibition opening "[KEIN SCHÖNER LAND] - Victims of right-wing violence in Brandenburg"
The exhibition of the association Opferperspektive e.V. "[KEIN SCHÖNER LAND] - Todesopfer rechter Gewalt in Brandenburg" was opened at the HNEE together with around 50 visitors. The exhibition shows "only the tip of the iceberg" of right-wing violence: the victims of right-wing violence. It does not show the people who have survived right-wing acts, who have suffered physical consequences, people who experience racism on a daily basis, said Judith Porath (Managing Director of the Operperspektive e. V. association).
The exhibition "Kein Schöner Land - Todesopfer rechter Gewalt in Brandenburg" (No Beautiful Country - Victims of Right-Wing Violence in Brandenburg), organised by the association Opferperspektive e.V., commemorates the fate of people who have lost their lives as a result of right-wing violence in Brandenburg since 1990. The exhibition is not only dedicated to the personal stories of the people themselves, but also offers an insight into the often incomplete investigation of the crimes and the social struggle for recognition of the victims. The exhibition also includes Amadeu Antonio, who died on 6 December 1990 as a result of an attack by right-wing extremist skinheads in Eberswalde.
The exhibition will be on display in the foyer of House 1 at HNEE from 5 December 2025 to 30 January 2026.
Together with the following partners, HNEE is setting an example against right-wing violence in Eberswalde:
- Opferperspektive e.V.
- Amadeu Antonio Foundation
- Light Me Amadeu campaign
- Students against the right
- European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder)
The opening was accompanied by music from cellist Tobias Hoffmann.
Accompanying the exhibition, workshops will be offered in December 2025 and January 2026 by speakers from Opferperspektive and the Mobile Counselling Team Angermünde:
