Celebrating Community: Your Brunch, Your Photo, Your City

Around 300 visitors took the opportunity to enjoy the culinary and cultural diversity of Eberswalde. Among the active participants were international students from the degree programmes OELV, NOEM, SESIN, IFEM, ERNA, and BIOM.

Irene and Ernesto brought Fregolatta, a delicious pastry from northern Italy, and a typical Cuban dish — Arroz Congris (a flavourful rice with beans and vegetables). Joseph contributed music from Zimbabwe, while Charlotte, Meike, and Alex helped out at the entrance. Other students, including Aaron and Sander, supported the preparations.

Visitors on Saturday represented all generations and a wide variety of backgrounds, including staff and students from HNEE. The event format, organised by the city association E, is a collaboration between the City of Eberswalde, the Brandenburg Quarter’s neighbourhood management, the Sparkasse bank, and HNEE.

Thanks to many other partners from initiatives, clubs, and local gastronomy, the shared meal clearly demonstrated the vibrant coexistence and diversity of locals and newcomers alike.

Alongside live music as part of Guten Morgen Eberswalde, the second half of the programme offered a wide-ranging cultural programme. The event was supported and co-organised by the Student Services and University Communications teams.
