ProMoor – Scientific Support for Recipients under the EFRE Peatland Conservation Funding Directive
Research project
01/2020 - 12/2023
Project volume:149.999 EURO
Competence field:Ecology
Funding partner:Federal funding, EU funding
Wet or rewetted peatland grassland poses particular challenges for land users due to its reduced load-bearing capacity. Under the ProMoor Peatland Conservation Directive, agricultural businesses can receive partial funding towards the purchase of peatland-friendly technology. The use of this technology is scientifically supported by HNE Eberswalde as part of the project, with the aim of gaining insights into its potential and limitations, as well as its impacts on peatland soil.
Project objectives:
- Assess the load-bearing capacity (manageability) of wet peatland sites.
- Assess the suitability of the technology for use.
- Develop recommendations for agricultural practice.
