The FarmElder project focuses in particular on older people as a target group for social farming activities in the EU. The project partners from five countries aim to identify commonalities and shared challenges, highlight inspiring examples, and develop information and training materials. They will proceed in several stages:

  • Analysis and comparison of the current situation of older people and the existing social farming provision in the participating countries, as well as identification of cross-border training needs.
  • Development and publication of a total of 14 case studies on social farming.
  • Development of an online learning platform with learning modules on social farming with older people. The platform is intended to provide those interested, such as people from the agricultural sector, with an introduction to the topic.

The project is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
