Centre for International Affairs
Guided by the principle of ‘international and networked’, the Centre for International Affairs (CIA) sees itself as the central point of contact for further advancing HNEE’s international networking as a cross-cutting priority in research, teaching and administration. We support the integration of global perspectives across all areas of the university in order to give the university community an international focus, thereby enriching the day-to-day study and work lives of all members.
A key focus of our work is on incorporating international dimensions into the Schools, as well as into teaching and study programmes, and on fostering and supporting the development of international collaborations in teaching and research, which are intended to strengthen academic exchange and enable innovation. In doing so, the ZIA collaborates with central and decentralised units and a wide range of stakeholders at HNEE, such as InnoSupport: Research | Start-ups | Transfer, the Language Centre, the Student Support Service and the Career Service, to create synergies and support the university’s strategic objectives.
Promoting a welcoming culture at the university is also a high priority for us, so that we can extend a warm welcome to staff and visitors from all over the world and create an open, supportive atmosphere that makes settling in and integrating at the university easier.
