New professional development opportunities – a culture of feedback and psychological safety
Under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr Alexander Conrad, the HNEE Continuing Education Centre will, for the first time, be offering two new continuing education programmes at the end of 2026 that address social sustainability where it arises: in the day-to-day collaboration of teams.
The topics are “Feedback culture and psychological safety”. The programme comprises a compact course entitled “Feedback culture and psychological safety as the foundation of a sustainable team culture” and an intensive course entitled “Creating safe spaces: actively shaping feedback culture and participation within the team”.
The intensive course ‘Feedback Culture and Psychological Safety as the Foundation of a Sustainable Team Culture’ is aimed at people from small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs and research groups, as well as teams in university settings. You feel that people in your environment do not speak openly enough, would like to understand why this is the case, and are looking for some initial practical methods to change this. No prior knowledge is required for the compact course.
The intensive course ‘Creating Safe Spaces: Actively Shaping a Culture of Feedback and Participation within Teams’ is aimed at people who already have some experience with feedback, team development or organisational culture and are seeking to deepen their knowledge. It is suitable for people from small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs and research groups who wish to actively shape their team culture.
For this course, a basic understanding of psychological safety, completion of a NVC (Non-Violent Communication) training course, and practical experience in collaborative contexts – such as personal leadership or facilitation experience – are recommended. There are no formal prerequisites.
Intensive course: A culture of feedback and psychological safety as the foundation of a sustainable team culture
Date: 16 September 2026 | 9 am – 5 pm
This one-day intensive course provides a comprehensive overview of psychological safety and a feedback culture: what lies behind them, what works and what doesn’t? Change agents will learn the key fundamentals, apply the methods taught themselves and receive practical handouts and recommended reading to help them put what they’ve learnt into practice in their own daily work.
Intensive course: Creating safe spaces: actively shaping a feedback culture and participation within the team Date: 2 & 3 December 2026 | 9 am – 5 pm on both days
This two-day intensive course is aimed at change agents who are already familiar with the basics and now want to take action. You will learn how to consciously shape a culture of feedback and psychological safety within your team context. The focus is on applying and comparing different methods, developing a personal approach, and directly applying what you’ve learnt to your own context.
Both courses are offered through the Continuing Education Centre at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. If you have any questions, please contact: weiterbildung(at)hnee.de
