Research Group on Biodiversity and Socio-ecological Systems
What we are researching
Recognising that humans and nature are interconnected, we work with Indigenous Peoples and local communities to better understand wildlife and other non-human species and promote biodiversity conservation especially in biodiversity hotspots. Our research is closely connected to the Professorship in Ecosystem-based Transformation Management in Biosphere Reserves, where we also engage in science-policy within the framework of the UNESCO Man and Biosphere programme and multilateral environmental agreements such as the UNFCCC.
