The central research question of the project Inwert Ökosystem Schaf – Valuing the Ecosystem Services of Extensive Sheep Farming is: How can the societal benefits of extensive sheep farming be marketed? The project considers the resources provided by lamb and sheep meat, tourism services and sheep’s wool. The project focuses on target group analyses and market research to identify the potential and barriers to valuing nature-friendly sheep farming and to develop possible solutions.

Sheep are multifunctional and indispensable to transforming our food system. To achieve this, we need to raise their profile.
