The “Protecting Tree-Lined Avenues with Wildflower Strips” project is developing practical concepts to protect tree-lined avenues alongside arable land. The aim is to establish wildflower strips on the arable side as buffer zones of up to six metres wide, helping to prevent damage caused by agricultural machinery, for example during ploughing. To this end, site-specific implementation solutions and suitable funding models to compensate agricultural businesses are being developed. The measures developed will then be tested and evaluated in practice.
