Prize of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The DAAD Prize is awarded annually to international students who distinguish themselves through outstanding academic achievements and exceptional engagement in social or intercultural activities. With prize money of 1,000 euros, the award recognises not only academic excellence but also the commitment these students demonstrate within their communities and beyond.
The prize is funded by the Federal Foreign Office (AA) and is open to international full-time students from the third semester of a Bachelor’s programme or from the second semester of a Master’s programme. Nominations may be submitted by teaching staff to the university’s International Office by 6 June each year. A brief explanation of the nominee’s exceptional achievements must be provided. After the nomination deadline, the university’s selection committee decides on the awarding of the prize.
The DAAD Prize is presented each year during the university’s matriculation ceremony. This special award helps to further strengthen intercultural cooperation and international exchange at the university and acknowledges the important role that international students play in academic and social life.
