Prize of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The DAAD Prize is an award that is presented annually to international students who stand out for their outstanding academic achievements and exceptional commitment in social or intercultural areas. With an endowment of 1,000 euros, the prize not only recognises academic success, but also the commitment that these students show in their environment and beyond.
The prize is funded by the Federal Foreign Office (AA) and is aimed at international full-time students from the 3rd semester of a Bachelor's degree course or from the 2nd semester of a Master's degree course. Nominations for the award can be submitted by lecturers to the university's International Office by 6 June each year. A brief explanation of the outstanding achievements is required. After the nomination deadline, the university's selection committee decides on the awarding of the prize.
The DAAD Prize is awarded annually as part of the university's matriculation ceremony. This special award helps to further promote intercultural cooperation and international exchange at the university and to recognise the important role of international students in academic and social life.
