Bio-Rübenzucker aus der Region - Uckerzucker
Organically produced beet sugar competes in the market with less expensive organic cane sugar. Its unique processing qualities require explanation to both consumers and processors. The Uckerzucker project analyzes the requirements and interest of food processing companies in regional organic beet sugar, as well as the needs and interests of consumers regarding the consumption of sugar and sugar-containing organic foods, in order to develop and test a communication concept for regional organic beet sugar in collaboration with regional companies.
AgroWert-Regio - Wertschöpfung mit Produkten aus Agroforst
The overarching goal of the AgroWert-Regio project—Participatory Value Chains with Agroforestry Products for Climate-Resilient Land Use—is to develop and test a community-based valuation and marketing concept for agroforestry products from Lusatia, which rewards the environmental services provided by agroforestry systems—and in particular their contribution to climate protection—while simultaneously strengthening cooperation among stakeholders along the entire agroforestry value chain in a sustainable manner. By testing such a participatory approach, which builds on previous results and successes in establishing agroforestry in Lusatia, the project supports the development of a regional demonstration network based on agroforestry circular economy. This network increases awareness of the positive effects of agroforestry systems among regional stakeholders—from producers to consumers—through the exchange of experiences and cooperation, and contributes to the dissemination of agroforestry as a sustainable land-use method in the region.
