ConnectED: German–Ukrainian University Network for Empowering Higher Education in Environmental Protection and Nature Conservation

Building on existing collaboration, the project strengthens the German-Ukrainian partnership by promoting cooperation and capacity-building in education and research. A key element is the establishment of the German-Ukrainian university network ‘ConnectED’, which brings together existing expertise and involves new partners from both countries. The project focuses on three main areas: strengthening academic partnerships, promoting jointly delivered courses and dual degrees, and supporting the internationalisation and institutional development of Ukrainian universities. The network provides a sustainable framework for long-term cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Main tasks:
1. Expanding academic links and cooperation within the ConnectED network 
2. Joint development of courses in German-Ukrainian tandems
3. Research-based teaching and exchanges for early-career researchers
4. Targeted training to strengthen internationalisation and build institutional capacity within partner universities
5. Development of framework conditions for joint and dual degree programmes
6. Learning camps and research stays for early-career researchers
