Sheep farms make an important contribution to nature conservation and climate protection. Around 70 sheep farms in Brandenburg manage approximately 25,000 hectares, including 5,000 hectares of heathland and dry grassland and 1,600 hectares of sensitive habitats. They are therefore indispensable to sustainable land management in the state of Brandenburg. Sheep flocks are particularly important for grazing sensitive sites. Without grazing, biodiversity declines.
The lack of recognition and compensation for the societal benefits provided by sheep farms threatens this contribution to nature conservation and climate protection. These societal benefits could be recognised through quality marketing of lamb meat. Crucial to the success of this economic valorisation is ensuring that the value created during the production process is conveyed through the value chain to consumers. This can be achieved by establishing a regional value chain, developing communication messages tailored to specific target groups, and identifying suitable marketing structures.

Targeting customers effectively is key to improving the marketing of regional lamb. To reach potential lamb eaters, you can download postcards, stickers and banners here. The print templates are available free of charge. The communication materials can be used nationwide and in a variety of ways. We recommend the following locations for engaging with customers: direct sales, specialist butchers, weekly markets and restaurants.
Further information on reprinting and redistribution can be found in the terms of use.
