Directions and location
Berlin is located at the gates of Eberswalde - and vice-versa. This is certainly true since the construction of the new Berlin train station was completed, cutting train travel to 32 minutes. But Eberswalde and the Faculty for Landscape Management and Nature Conservation are also easy to reach from the surrounding rural areas.
By public transport
The Eberswalde main train station is easy to reach from Berlin:
· Regional trains run every hour from the Berlin-SĂŒdkreuz - Potsdamer Platz - Berlin Hbf (main station) (lower level) - Gesundbrunnen stations via Bernau (ICEs, ICs and ECs also occasionally run along this same route) and
· An ODEG train runs every hour from Berlin-Lichtenberg via Berlin-Hohenschönhausen and Bernau.
Trolley buses take you from the Eberswalde train station in just a few minutes to the Market Square (Markt): line 861 in the direction "Nordend" and 862in the direction "Ostend" (they run practically every 5 minutes on weekdays). From here, it is about 300 m to the city campus back in the direction of the train station.
For information on train connections, you can use the online timetable service of the Deutsche Bahn (enter "Eberswalde Markt" as the destination to also show bus connections). The VBB ticket also includes the bus.
If you have the time or just feel like walking, it takes a good 20 minutes to reach the Faculty for Landscape Management and Nature Conservation city campus on foot. You can find a map on this page which can also be downloaded.
... And, if there's just no other way: by car
The city of Eberswalde is northwest of Berlin and at the Finowfurt exit of the A11 motorway. The B167 from Freienwalde or Liebenwalde and the B2 from Bernau or AngermĂŒnde also pass through Eberswalde.
The city campus which is home to the buildings of the Faculty for Landscape Management and Nature Conservation is located right in the city centre close to the market square. Parking is free for the first 2 hours in the surrounding streets. For paid parking, we particularly recommend the nearby parking garage at the corner of Goethestrasse/Pfeilstrasse (30 cent/hour, EUR 5 daily maximum).
